Very good for a first attempt. I would like to have seen some animation on the character like a walk cycle or something but other than that the controls are smooth and the graphics are very nice. I particularly like the way you have created a parallax effect by fixing the background in place. I had no glitches or problems with the hit area on spikes.

hey this is awesome really really good for a first game, ive just started actionscripting too and am trying to make something similar in terms of how the characeter moves and shoots, is there any chance you could share some of the code with me im not going to be publishing it or making any money from it and id make sure i reference you. im not asking for the source code just want to know how you did the shooting with the directional keys, atm i can aim and shoot with the mouse but would rather use the keys like in smash tv.

This game is awesome, i love the art style, really takes me back to when i was a kid and nintendo actually made a decent handheld. Also the soundtrack is really cool. I basically loved everything about it.

this is a really nice game, i love the art style, music and interface, very minimalist and cool . its not easy to get this sort of game right but this one of the better ones. I think it would be good if you had choices during the conversations that would effect the story, because it would add another dimension to the game.
